For example, having 10% crit on your great axe, doesn't give you 10% added crit if you have another weapon active. I was leveling my sword mastery, but i didnt want to equip a shield because of the associeated weight increase (I like to stay in light armor range). Witrynatheres a video on youtube (from the alpha) where you can see that every piece of armor and jewel gives 25 points of 1 stat or 15 + 10 points of 2 stats. not sure if there is a 20 + 5 combination, since it wasnt in the video. each weapon gives 30 points of 1 stat, but sword and shield give 15 points of each. in that sense, there is balance.
